While losing access to a wallet that belongs to you (for example, because you can’t remember your password; your seed phrase has missing or incorrect wording; or the wallet file itself has been either deleted, corrupted or left on a failing drive) is possible, there is often an option for you to regain entry. In all cases we act solely for the rightful owner of the wallet, attempt to recover or restore the wallet’s data and assist in regaining entry to the wallet where sufficient information exists.
When you lose access to your own wallet, please cease attempting random passwords (excessive password attempts may permanently lock certain types of wallets), and if the wallet file existed on a failing drive, or was deleted, please cease using that drive. Collect everything that you still have: past passwords; partial seed word(s); the type of wallet software used; any existing backups. The only cautionary note: we can only assist in helping the rightful owner gain access to their wallet again. No matter what others tell you, we can never recover previously transacted cryptocurrency on the blockchain nor recover funds sent to a scammer or an erroneous cryptocurrency address. Anyone claiming they can recover your stolen cryptocurrency is almost certainly a scam. Additionally, please be aware we cannot perform any actions regarding scammers contacting you stating you have cryptocurrency and requesting payment from you to receive said cryptocurrency. This is a scam and should immediately be reported to your local law enforcement agency.
Typically wallet access is lost through one of several scenarios, and in those instances where enough remains available, there typically will exist at least one viable pathway to re-access the wallet. Here are the scenarios in which we can occasionally assist.

The wallet file has been removed, damaged or is on a failing drive? If so we will take an image of your drive, and then attempt to restore or repair your wallet.dat or keystore.

Recent wallet recoveries. Information is intentionally left vague to protect user privacy.
The drive was cloned. The damaged wallet file (wallet.dat) was extracted, cleaned up and restored with the owner’s existing password, which unlocked access and retained all keys.
One of our customers had some of the valid seed words for their wallet; however, they could not recall others. Therefore, we were able to take the portions they did remember and compare it to the wallet itself to determine which seed words would be correct. Once we determined which ones were good, we were able to enter those into the system and gain back access to their wallet.
Utilising the specific patterns and characters the owner had some recollection of, a password was identified and the owner’s wallet accessed using those identifiers. There were no guesses made outside what they provided as hints.

Sometimes, but only if there is something left to recover or fix. There may still be usable parts of your seed phrase, or other ways that we may be able to use to help restore access to your wallet. Even if your wallet file (wallet.dat) is missing, damaged, or located on a failed hard drive, we many times can recover or repair your wallet file. If we have part of your seed phrase or know part of your password, we may also be able to rebuild access to your wallet. Unfortunately, if everything is truly gone, and we cannot find anything to work with, then the answer is no.
No, and that is very important. All blockchain transactions are irreversible, and there is no legitimate means of recovering sent/stolen cryptocurrency. Any service offering to recover your sent/stolen cryptocurrency by “recovering” a transfer that has been made to another party, is almost certainly running a scam. We provide services solely for helping owners gain access to their own wallets.
Often, if you can remember at least some details about it: such as how many characters were used, or general structure of how you typically construct passwords, then we may be able to recover it using those memories. However, we will NOT attempt to blind crack strong, unknown passwords. That simply isn’t realistic nor would we claim otherwise.
Yes, frequently. When only a few words are either missing from the original phrase, misspelled or in an incorrect order, the design of most seed phrases allows us to create the complete phrase in order to restore access. Obviously, the more of the original phrase you know, the greater chance we’ll have of successfully restoring access to your account.
Yes, this is true data recovery. Once we’ve imaged the drive (in which case our goal is to find and extract the “wallet.dat” or “keystore” file), we’ll repair it where needed so it opens up in your wallet software with your own credentials.
Never share your full seed phrase or private keys with anybody you don’t fully trust; that’s how a great deal of crypto is taken. With regard to file recovery, we won’t require your seed phrase/private keys. In situations where we’re attempting to rebuild a portion of your seed phrase/password from memory, we’ll clearly identify what we need from you and why, and allow you to remain in total control.
This is a fair point. We are a well-established data recovery business based in Bristol with a physical location and telephone number; we always evaluate first and honestly advise you on whether recovery is feasible; we also never request upfront fees for recovering stolen cryptocurrency, because as stated previously, we cannot assist in doing so; and finally, we’ll only provide quotes when we’re fairly certain we can help you.
Only your own wallet. Before performing any service or recovery, we verify who owns a particular wallet and we will never attempt to gain unauthorised access to another person’s wallet. Recovering another individual’s wallet without their permission is something we will not perform.
All of the main forms of wallets and file types (Bitcoin Core, Electrum, Exodus, MetaMask and other popular software wallets; wallet.dat and keystore files; BIP39 seed phrase etc.) as well as the major cryptocurrencies. Generally, what is recoverable is determined by the data itself rather than the type of wallet and/or currency.
Often, if it is yours and you still have your recovery seed (those words allow you to transfer your wallet back onto a brand-new device), a forgotten PIN number, or a damaged Ledger or Trezor usually does not represent the end of the line. Often, we can rebuild your seed if you’ve lost it partially; however, if you’ve totally lost your seed, the options available to you are very limited, and they rely on the device itself. We will always give you an honest account of what is possible/realistic. And we only do a hardware wallet recovery that belongs to you.
